The East of England Show, organised by the East of England Agricultural Society, is the region’s leading farming and countryside show. The Show features some of the best of British livestock as horses from Shetlands to Shires.

There is something for all the family to enjoy, including displays of country sports, crafts and activities. There are also displays of farming nostalgia with working steam and vintage farm machinery displays.

There will be plenty of activities for children and lots of opportunities to find out more about food and farming.

The Show will also feature a huge range of trade stands, plus crafts and a food hall with plenty of mouth watering temptations.

Celebrity Chef Nigel Brown will be appearing on Saturday and Sunday of the show in our cookery theatre providing wonderful summer ideas for you to recreate at home for your family and friends.

Nigel demonstrates at many major food festivals all around the country alongside other top chefs such as Jean-Christophe Novelli and Ainsley Harriott, plus many more. Nigel also runs his own exclusive cookery academy in North Lincolnshire where he inspires beginners through to professionals with his culinary expertise and cheeky sense of humour, he’s participated in screen tests for the BBC’s Ready Steady Cook and he regularly appears on BBC Radio Humberside’s morning show sharing his hints and tips for recipes, cooking and topical food related issues.

Last weekend’s foodies festival in Brighton saw top chef Nigel Brown team up with Matt Tiller from ITV’s hit show Come Dine With Me in a search for the town’s next dinner party hosts to be filmed in the area in July this year.

Nigel demonstrated to Matt and the audience an attractive way to cut and serve a fresh pineapple whilst Matt explained how his show was looking for applicants in the Brighton and Hove area who would like to take part in the popular programme with the chance to win £1000.

As Nigel moved on to making summer cheesecake, using his new skills Matt tackled his own pineapple and produced a mighty fine centrepiece display (as long as you looked at it from the right angle!).

Come Dine With Me are looking for people over 18 years of age in Brighton with a passion for cooking who want to demonstrate their skills. Over four days, four strangers, from all walks of life, take turns to host the perfect dinner party for each other. At the end of the week the most impressive host wins a £1,000 cash prize.
