• The East of England Christmas Festival

Due to increasing popularity, the East of England Christmas Festival is being extended to three days this year - Friday 13th November, Saturday 14th November and Sunday 15th November 2009 - and will be under one roof, in the brand new exec Peterborough exhibition centre.

The Christmas Festival offers a unique shopping experience, with over 250 craft and gift stands. Visitors to the Festival will have the perfect opportunity to discover a whole host of quality gift ideas for friends and family, and the Food Hall will feature some of best local and regional specialty products.

Celebrity Chefs Nigel Brown and Richard Fox will be appearing over the three days of the show in our cookery theatre providing wonderful festive ideas for you to recreate at home for your family and friends.

Nigel Brown

Nigel regularly demonstrates his culinary talents at top food festivals and events, entertaining his audiences with his cheeky sense of humour and easy to follow teaching style. Nigel is actively involved in promoting the Love Food, Hate Waste Campaign, a subject he demonstrates passionately and which is very close to his Yorkshire roots.

When Nigel’s not demonstrating his skills on stage at many of the UK’s biggest food festivals, delivering private cookery courses at his Cookery Academy he caters for high profile private functions and VIP hospitality. He’s worked closely with Jean-Christophe Novelli at The Novelli Academy offering corporate entertainment and teaching specialist patisserie/cookery courses and is actively involved in promoting the Love Food, Hate Waste Campaign, a subject he demonstrates passionately and which is very close to his Yorkshire roots

Richard Fox

Richard Fox is a TV chef, and active supporter, campaigner and demonstrator of the Defra backed Love Food Hate Waste campaign. He was winner of The British Guild of Beer Writers awards for Food and Beer writing; he has had his own cooking slot on BBC1 Regional Look North and was a regular chef on BBC 2's Food Poker.

His first book, The Food and Beer Cook Book was published by Senate in 2006, and was also launched in Australia by Marshal Cavendish. Richard co-wrote Morrissey's Perfect Pint with Neil Morrissey which was published by Harper Collins in September 2008. Channel 4 then commissioned a three part series based on the book, which aired in October last year.

His expertise in the world of beer have made him a favourite personality for hosting gourmet beer and food events for Harvey Nichols, Fullers brewery, as well as The British Ambassadors residence in Paris in support of British export. He has talked and demonstrated at The National Chef's Conference as well as numerous corporate and private events around the world. He has appeared on UKTV Food, Saturday Cooks on ITV, The Good Food Show on BBC Radio 4, to name but a few.

He is currently working on a new TV series with Neil Morrissey for ITV to be broadcast next year, as well as leading the way, through his new company, in promoting the message of reducing food waste demonstrating exciting recipes using left-over ingredients, and giving a host of tips on extending shelf life and reducing waste.

To make the day complete, visitors can enjoy a delicious meal in the festival carvery restaurant, knowing that all the food has been sourced under the Showground's Food Direct from the Farm scheme.
